Along with playing well known cover songs, Keith, Brandon and Wes have written many original songs that have a combined style of pop, rock, reggae, funk and the blues. Their versatility is what attracts people to their music, because they can please most all musical tastes while incorporating tight, three part harmonies in their songs. Each member emphasizes audience interaction in their performances because they love what they do.

The name "Daddy Rab," got its roots from Keith's father, the late Joe Byers, who was also a musician. Joe Byers played steel guitar with many famous musicians during the 1950's and 60's, including country singer, Loretta Lynn. A fellow musician called Joe "Daddy Rab," as a sort of nickname. After Joe's death in 1992, Keith Byers had put a band together and when the time came to decide on a band name, all the band members came to an agreement. The band would be called Daddy Rab, as a way of commemorating Keith's dad, Joe Byers.

Daddy Rab has seen some changes in the past few years, originally starting off as a trio and at one point becoming a quartet, when Steve Hopkins joined the band, playing keyboard and adding vocals. A few years after Steve joined, he decided to quit the band to pursue other interests, but all the members remained on good terms up until the unexpected death of Steve in September, 2007.

Presently, Daddy Rab performs for both public and private events, routinely updating their playlist of songs to keep their material fresh and interesting to their devoted audiences.
